Winter Camp 2008 in Pohang, South Korea
January 2008

3 English&More teachers went to South Korea to teach a 2 week intensive English camp for children (7-13 years old). It was a truly inspiring experience! We taught the children English and introduced them to American culture. We designed the program to be like a typical American style camp with an American School theme. The students changed periods like the American high school system and they attended various classes. Our main goal was to have FUN! We included lots of interactive, hands-on activities that focused on developing conversational skills and getting to know a little about American culture.
It was a wonderful exchange of cultural learning!                           read more...

We hosted the Experience English Summer Camp 2008 in Charleston this July and August. Nineteen South Korean children (ages 7-13) came to Charleston to attend a 2 week intensive English camp and stay with American host families. Students improved their English skills at the camp while also participating in a variety of fieldtrips and interactive activities to fully engage them in an American cultural experience. The students ended their U.S. adventure with a trip to Orlando, Florida to explore Disney World.

This experience could not have been possible without the time and dedication from so many people, so before we share all of the wonderful memories from this camp we have to express deep gratitude to those involved:

Thanks to...
  • the children who opened their minds to a new experience
  • the Korean families who trusted us with their children
  • the Korean leader and chaperones who guided the children safely on this voyage
  • the teachers who created fun activities for the kids
  • the host families who shared their home and hearts with these children
